High availability for your web application

Load Balancing is a technique that distributes the load among multiple servers, increasing the availability of your web application and distributing the load among several servers.

What types of Load Balancing are available?

Hydra-Shield offers several types of Load Balancing, including:

• Round Robin Load Balancing

Requests are distributed evenly among available servers. Each server receives an equal share of the load, regardless of its capacity or current workload.

• IP Hash Load Balancing

Requests are distributed based on the source IP address of the client. This method ensures that requests from a specific client are always sent to the same server.

• Weighted Round Robin Load Balancing

Each server is assigned a weight based on its capacity or performance. Servers with higher weights receive a larger proportion of the load.

• Failover Load Balancing

Requests are distributed among available servers. Normally, all requests are sent to the main server. If the main server fails, traffic is automatically switched to the backup server(s).
